Admission Guide

Qualifications

- A person whose nationality isn't Korean and is a graduate or a graduate-to-be for a bachelor or master degree.

- Our school only offers Master's Degree Programs.

** Due to change of law, beginning from the 2012 Spring semester all international students who are accepted as a newcomer must have health insurance to cover their stay in Korea, if students wish to use the school local health insurance they must inform the administrative office after acceptance.**

Documentation for Application

 

Beginning from the 2013 Fall Admission we receive application through online. Application consists of "Online Application Documents" and "Postal Mail Evidential Documents" Following are the guidelines.

 

Online Application Documents must be submitted through online. Applicants must login into the online application site(click on the link to access) duing the admission period in order to submit online application. Evidential Documents must be sent by postal mail and must arrive until the deadline 17o'clock physically.

Postal Mail Evidential Documents

1) Official certificate of degree or a certified copy of degree

- For graduate-to-be students an official document stating he/she will graduate must be submitted

- For applicants applying with masters degree, must submit both bachelors and masters degree

2) Official transcript

- If grades are not GPA based student must submit instruction explaining grade system

- For applicants applying with masters degree, must submit both bachelors and masters transcript

3) Two letters of recommendation (Letters from faculty members are preferred)

4) Official English Test Scores

- Only TOEFL (iBT, PBT), TOEIC or IELT (Academic Module) score issued within 2 years are accepted.

** Please refer to Application Q&A, Q6 regarding English score **

- Countries which use English as an official language are exempt

- Applicants with a bachelor's degree from countries which uses English as its official language are also exempt

5) Curriculum vitae : Must include e-mail & phone number

6) Applicant's or Sponsor (Parents)'s VOD(Verification of Deposit) indicating a minimum balance of $20,000 USD

in funds (email submission possible)

7) Official certificate of physical examination

- An official medical document stating that you have no infectious disease issued by a medical institution

- As of December 2014 for the finalist who are accepted to the GIP, due to the change of law, after entering Korea they will be subject to take a Tuberculosis test at the nearest Korean public health center. This law applies to all foreign or domestic students. Students with high infectious disease such as Tuberculosis cannot study at our school.

8) Copy of Passport (Must show name and nationality)

9) Scholarship Application (Students who are applying for scholarship must submit scholarship application by e-mail to gip@khu.ac.kr application form is attached at the bottom of this webpage).

When submitting documents it must be in either English or Korean if it isn't you must submit an English translation of the documents.

When submitting copies of original documents it must be notarized or attested by your school or an official organization with authority. By law, all application documents that fail to pass the admission must be discarded after process thus do not submit documents that cannot be reissued.

Due to strict international admission guidelines we cannot accept essential evidential documents (such as official certificate of degree, official transcript, recommendation letter, official English test score etc) by E-mail or online. All non-online evidential documents must be sent by postal mail. Evidential documents should be sent in a single package.

If any of the documents that was submitted turns out to be false admission will be revoked even after final acceptance.

**All postal mail evidential documents must arrive physically until the online and offline application submission period deadline 16o'clock . All online application without postal mail evidential documents will be disqualified.**

 

Tuition, Entrance Fee and Scholarship

 

Tuition, Entrance Fee and Scholarship

- Beginning from the 2018 Spring semester the GIP no longer offers full scholarships but only offers partial scholarships. Students must pay Tuition and Entrance Fee in order to enter.

Entrance Fee : Approximately 980,000 KRW paid only once,

Tuition

- Peace and Global Governance : Approximately 5,295,000 KRW per semester.

- Peace and Security Policy : Approximately 5,295,000 KRW per semester.

- UN and The Art of Peace : Approximately 6,500,000 KRW per semester.

Scholarship for tuition : Scholarship for tuition is available up to 30%

For students who wish to stay at the GIP dormitory can stay by paying the following fees : Dormitory boarding expenses approximatively 261,000 KRW (per 1 month), don't serve meals.
